Over 500+ Dolls!

Featuring over 500 dolls spanning three centuries, the collection offers a rare opportunity to witness history as told through handcrafted figures, from the simple yet profound dolls made by enslaved women in the 1850s to post-slavery dolls that, despite more defined features, still reflected the racial stereotypes of their time. Each doll serves as a silent witness to resilience, struggle, and triumph, showcasing the evolving representation of African Americans in society.

A Must-See Exhibit!

This one-of-a-kind exhibit invites you to see, reflect, and engage with the past in a deeply personal way. Come explore the stories these dolls have to tell and discover history through a new lens.
